A look back at one of The Sandbox tournament and event venues – Ocean Beach Park, New London CT in the 60s or 70s (?). We’re told that in the 80s and 90s there were professional beach volleyball tour events held at Ocean Beach – Jose Cuervo, Miller LITE, Captain Morgan, etc. Giant grandstands around a center court, with throngs of people on the boardwalk and at the upstairs main bar heckling and spectating.
